A modded Minecraft server built around Create — gear-driven factories, trains, steam-powered contraptions. To get in, you need the modpack: follow one of the two methods below, it only takes a few minutes.
// SERVERAddress to add in Minecraft
play.cogtopia.games
Java 21 is downloaded automatically by both launchers — you don't have to install anything yourself.
A “vanilla” Minecraft client is rejected automatically. You can't join without the modpack installed — that's normal, the server checks the mods on connection.
On TLauncher? Don't use its built-in modpack browser. The “Cogtopia” pack listed there is a fake by another author — it has the wrong mods and the server will reject it on join. Use an official method below; Prism Launcher works for free with offline accounts, just like TLauncher.

Install the modpack
PL.01/04
Two paths to the same destination. The first is free and works with an offline account; the second requires a premium Microsoft account. Pick one, you don't need both.
Two last details the moment you arrive on the server — then you're free to build.
Protect your account
The server uses the Auth mod. On your first connection, type in chat (press T):
$ /trigger register set <number>
Your password is a number you choose (e.g. 2468) — set it once. To reconnect later: /trigger login set <number> (the same number).
Built-in voice chat
The server ships with Simple Voice Chat, already included in the modpack. No setup needed: plug in a mic and talk proximity-style with the players around you.
You can open the voice settings in-game with the V key if you need to pick your mic.

Having trouble?

The most common blockers and how to get past them.
Q.01“Connection refused” or a screen that bounces you back to the menu+
You're probably launching a vanilla Minecraft without the mods. The server only accepts the Cogtopia modpack: make sure you launch it from Prism Launcher, CurseForge or the Modrinth app, never from the plain official launcher.
Q.02Do I need to install Java myself?+
No. Java 21 is downloaded and configured automatically by both Prism Launcher and the CurseForge app. You don't have to touch anything.
Q.03I don't have a paid Minecraft account+
Use Prism Launcher with an Offline account: you pick a username and you can play. The CurseForge app, on the other hand, requires a premium Microsoft account.
Q.04The server doesn't show up in my list+
In Minecraft's multiplayer menu, click Add Server, give it a name, and paste the exact address play.cogtopia.games into the address field. No port to add.
Q.05Where's the official modpack page?+
Right here on this page — see Install above (Prism, CurseForge or Modrinth), or grab it at play.sitecreator.shop. Make sure the version is NeoForge 1.21.1.
Q.06I installed a “Cogtopia” pack in TLauncher and it won't connect+
That pack in TLauncher's browser is not ours — it's a fake by another author with the wrong mods (you'll often see an error about Create: Connected missing on the server). Don't try to fix it mod-by-mod; install the official pack instead with Prism Launcher (free, offline accounts) from the Install section above, then add play.cogtopia.games.
Support the server
Cogtopia is free and open to everyone. If you enjoy the server, you can support it — it helps pay for hosting and keep the project alive. Any amount, secure payment via Stripe. Thank you!
